The Social Action Portfolio at St Mungo's is vibrant, dynamic and active in the community.

Our overriding objective is to share passionately the good news of the Gospel and bring people to know the Lord. Through our actions (assisting in alleviating suffering and meeting short term needs) we demonstrate the love the Lord has for those who are disadvantaged in our community.

St Mungo's is blessed to have two churches, one in Bryanston and the other in Diepsloot. Using our churchsite as a base, the main focus of our portfolio is meeting the most pressing needs in the Diepsloot community.

Diepsloot projects include:
  • School uniform packs are distributed to those most in need at the beginning of the school year.

  • Winter fleece jackets are sponsored by donors and distributed to orphans and vulnerable children during May each year.

  • Christmas shoe boxes and packets are given to the kids in December to celebrate the birth of our Saviour.

  • Recycle clothing is distributed monthly to children in need.

  • Stop Hunger Distribution Appoximately 2000 meals per month are distributed by St Mungo's Diepsloot to the Diepsloot community.

  • Adult Education and Training The Diepsloot Foundation operate an adult training facility at St Mungo's Diepsloot. Courses offered include: ABET (Adult Basic Education and Training), sewing, carpentry and computer training. The Diepsloot Foundation is a Section 21 Company with a PBO number and any donor contributions are deductible for tax purposes. Click HERE to learn more.
